Life is okay. I’m pretty much back to “normal” in terms of sleeping habits, and bill paying, and all that. I’ve lost some weight too, which is always good. I’ve been looking for a second job for some pocket money because, honestly, all my paychecks go to bills. But I’m not stressing over it. I’ve been really good about not spending too much money this semester. I’ve got nearly all of my DVDs sold off which has helped a lot money-wise (you’d be surprised), and I’m staying on top of my studying too. My signals got crossed with my academic adviser the other day, but we set up another appointment for Thursday afternoon.

Random word of advice: if you see a wishing tree, make a wish on it. You won’t regret it.

So instead of blabbering about how I have nothing really interesting going on, I’m going to share one of my favourite mixtapes with you. Enjoy.

A bit of background on this mixtape, Sideways Rain:

I was driving to work to clean up and officially close my tea store this past August. That day just happened to be one of the last bad rainy days of the summer season. The humidity was nasty. Vegas folks are so used to no humidity that when we get even a little bit in anticipation of a rainstorm, we’re scrambling for air conditioners. It takes a season to get used to our weather, unless you’ve lived in a desert before. We prefer the dry heat.

Anyways, it was raining cats and dogs right as I hit the road. It was so bad, the rain was falling sideways on my windshield.

I was listening to my “Sunny Side Up” playlist. I usually leave my iPod Video on shuffle. That’s the main reason I bought it. I don’t like listening to things in order; it’s just a thing I have to do.

On that particular day, every song I listened to in succession didn’t make me want to fast-forward. So when I got into work that day, I wrote down all the songs that came up, and swore to make a playlist when I got home.

Which I did.

Of course, since this was two months ago, songs have come and gone off this playlist, but most of the songs on here were on the original “Sideways Rain” playlist.
