Feeling :  apatheticapathetic  Listening :  Nothing  Reading :  The Ghost at Dawn\'s House

Last night was a bad night to be me.

I have been doing some hardcore thinking, the life-changing kind. I’m not really happy pursuing a strictly English/History degree anymore. Haven’t been for awhile. This semester off and the new job helped me come to terms with a few things.

ETA (Thursday, July 10): I think I might stick with English after all. When I was doing my unofficial degree audit, I didn’t realize it had been done for the current catalog year: 2007-2008. I started at NSC during the 2006-2007 school year, and the requirements for the English degree during that year weren’t as complicated as 2007-2008. So I printed out an official DARS report from my student account, and it turns out I only need 7 classes to finish by spring 2009. Rather than graduating in fall 2009, taking the maximum amount of classes, and hoping on hope that all the classes I need for Integrated Studies were offered in spring and fall. I’m still not keen on paying $500 for French 4 (tuition + books), but it’s a small price to pay, really. I’m still gonna keep my appointment with my adviser, because I still have some questions that need answering about my degree.

But in the process of coming to grips with this, I got a pounding migraine. School is the only thing in the world that gives me migraines, rofl. Luckily, it was time to go to bed, so I popped 2 Excedrin migraine pills and slept it off.

For some reason though, I woke up out of a dead sleep at 520 AM this morning. Double craziness! Turns out my niece woke up at the same time as me. Wide awake. No reason. Just BOOM! Weird, huh?

So I checked my torrents (I got Tipping the Velvet and the first season of the Sarah Jane Adventures), and double-checked the paperwork I have for Integrated Studies. Finally feeling good about the decision, I turned my TV on for white noise and passed out around 9.

I woke up at 11AM or so to a PMS-y email from my sister hollering at me and my niece (her daughter) to get off the computer. lawl. If she doesn’t know I torrent, now she does, haha. Anyways, she had a list of chores to do, which we did because we didn’t have anything better to do.

I made afritada for the first time ever. It came out pretty good too. I called my mom a couple of times today and the second time I told her I defrosted the meat, but wasn’t sure what to make. She suggested afritada. I took notes but I didn’t really follow it. I just trusted my instinct. I get it from my mom. We don’t use cookbooks. Just tell me what’s supposed to go in and I’ll take a shot in the dark with it, haha.

Then, as we were resting from cleaning the house, my sister called her daughter and apologized for yelling at us in the email. Regardless, the bathroom, the kitchen, and the girls’ room is clean. Tomorrow we’re gonna give the dogs a bath.

As promised, here’s a mixtape for this month. The cover art comes from a Google search for “cassette tape label.” I cleaned it up in Photoshop, printed out the blank label, hand wrote the songs, took a picture of it with my iPhone, put it on my computer, cleaned it up in Photoshop again, and now it’s here for your viewing pleasure. This was actually a meme I did on MySpace a few months back, but I had ideas for mixtapes for the last few months and put this one on the back-burner. However, I think it’s a good a time as any to do it, so enjoy!

If my life were a film, this would be the soundtrack.
