Feeling :  gigglygiggly  Listening :  Saved by the Bell on The N  Reading :  The Mind Reader, Claudia and the Bad Joke, and Indian in the Cupboard

Yesterday was hectic. I had worked 8 days straight to get Wednesday/Thursday off, but that’s because we needed coverage at work on Tuesday. I’m used to having Tuesday/Wednesday off. Because I worked so early on Tuesday, I had a v. funny feeling they were gonna give me a taste of what our leads go through. And boy, did I!

I was also unofficially christened one of my supervisor’s adminstrative assistants. English is his second language, so when he sends emails, he writes the way he speaks, rofl. When he heard that English was my major, his eyes lit up and he said I have to interpret his emails. So all the emails he allowed me to read (in between calls and stuff), were hilarious to try and make it sound like readable English, bless him.

It was actually kinda fun to learn the crap our leads go through. I hope they don’t offer me the relief lead position that my supe was emailing our head cheese about. I mean, yeah, I’d be very good at it, because I take pride in my work, but I don’t want that responsibility. Or maybe I do and just don’t know it, haha.

My supe was also saying I could be a CEO someday. My work ethic is impeccable, so he says. I guess that’s true. Then I got to thinking, “Maybe I could.” Maybe that’s why I’m floundering where I am now. I like being in charge. I like taking control of things. I’m very ambitious in that sense. But when I’m hindered by anything because of my role as a corporate peon (rofl), I feel stilted. Like there are certain things I simply cannot do because I am only an agent. If I was a supe, or manager, I would do anything to please my guests. Period.

I dunno. It just made me think.

Then my supe also said something very sweet. He said that guys are afraid of smart and pretty girls, which he said I was. I blushed, because nobody has ever really told me that, you know. Girls have such low self-esteem that when compliments like that come out of the blue, it really boosts their ego.

Also, I tweeted that I got busted for being on the Internet. Turns out that head cheese called my supe, and I got called out on it. I was so ashamed because it makes everyone look bad when somebody does something they’re not supposed to do. It’s like the one time I space out on the internetz, during a lull in business, they walk by! Ugh. Luckily, I’m not working at that desk anymore, rofl. But I learned my lesson. You always have to be on your toes, ’cause you never know who’s watching.

On Wednesday, I was so ready to not do anything, even though I had a bunch of errands to do (which I didn’t even really finish). I had to drop off some packages to ship, went to the ATM, to the library (got some goodies at the used bookstore there, they’re in my Goodreads account), and then we spent almost 2.5 hours at Ross. I had only wanted to buy a few things, but I had taken my nieces along and since school starts next week for us, I agreed to buy them a few new things. It’s kinda funny; I went to the fitting room a ton of times, but towards the end, I didn’t like any of the shirts and pants I was trying on. The first few I tried on, I fell in love with and bought. Isn’t that weird?

I bought a new bra (that is uber comfy, my other ones are only marginally comfy, rofl, and would’ve bought more in the same style, but they didn’t have any in my size), 3 new tops, new Dickies, and leather boots (that C said remind her of Ryan Ross, which is why I fully bought them!). They got some really cute shirts between them too. I wanted more unmentionables, but alas, I did not have the cash. I’ll have to budget for them soon.

I checked the bookstore to see what books I needed for my classes, and thank GODDESS, most of them I can put on hold at the library. The rest I’m gonna have to shell out a pretty penny. One class has a book that’s $100+. I found it on Amazon for maybe $90. :(

I’m hungry, but I’m too lazy to see what’s downstairs that I can eat, haha.

But Back to the Future, Part II is on TV! Yay! BTTF and Indiana Jones made my childhood, pretty much.

Feeling :  annoyedannoyed  Listening :  N/A  Reading :  A TON of books. :)

Happy birthday Corinne!

In case you didn’t know, I got back into fanlistings. I just opened 3: Victoria Asher, Ghosts, and Revolution in Me. I also just got approved for Stephen Campbell Moore, and I applied to adopt a few as well. I doubt I’ll get the adoptions, since I’m technically “new” to fanlistings. But let’s hope! *crosses fingers*

So what’s on my drama plate today? rofl.

I got a call this morning from the registrar’s office at school. “We got your fax and we need to refer your call to the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences to check on the status of your prerequisite block override forms for such and such classes.” They gave me a phone number to call, so I called it.

In case you were wondering, I managed to get off of financial hold, because I finished paying my fees for last semester with my last paycheck. \m/ I added two classes to my fall schedule: Outlaw Genres and US Foreign Relations I. I need 12 credits to be a full-time student, which would be 4 classes.

Since this is my first and last year at school, I decided I needed a little help financially and applied for FAFSA. I checked to see if my money had been awarded, but they’re saying I need to sign paperwork in order to determine my eligibility. No problem. Since I was financial hold for so long, they probably thought I wasn’t even gonna come back. And signing paperwork? Pfft. I’m a corporate drone; I know ALL about signing paperwork. rofl.

I only really need 3 more upper division English classes to finish on time. They just so happen to be offering them: Fundamentals of Business Writing and Comparative Literature (and Outlaw Genres). The system wouldn’t let me add them though. It said I didn’t meet the prerequisites. Bullcrap. I took the prereq class at another school under a different name, and ran into this problem last semester. So I filled out the paperwork and got the call from the office.

When I called the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the lady I spoke to (who needs to work on her customer service tone, geez) said that they were in the process of checking my paperwork and would have an answer for me by the end of the week.

I asked her why, since they processed my last prereq block override form in no time flat. She explained that they were moving the department to our shiny new Liberal Arts and Sciences building. That’s the reason why I have to wait until the end of this week to get confirmation on whether or not those classes can be added to my schedule.

This is SO unnerving. School starts at the end of the month already! But I just have to remind myself that a few days wait isn’t so bad. Ugh, ugh!

ETA (August 6): I logged into my Student Account just now… and they added the 2 classes I need! Yay! Now I have to hot foot it down to my financial aid office on my day off next week and sign whatever paperwork I need to sign so I can get some help ’cause ooh boy, I need it. They also processed the check I sent them for graduation in the spring too. I knew everything would work out! 1 more semester. Meep. I need Community-Based Learning Capstone, Historical Investigation and Senior Seminar. And French 4, but I’m taking that at another school. As soon as I use what I need for this semester, I’m gonna use whatever’s left over for French 4. YES. \m/

Today was a good day though. Me and my niece C picked up her friend N at noon or so, and we all went to do errands. N had to be home by 3, although we failed at that. If I had known the night before that N needed to be home by 3, we would have left much earlier. Anyways, they came with me to get my oil changed and my smog check done. Then we went to Caesar’s Palace to take pictures. We hit up FAO Schwarz and Niketown. That’s all we had time for.

I took my D40 with us, and the pictures came out so well! I’m not gonna post the ones I took with their faces in it, because that’s just wrong. Maybe their feet, but not their faces, rofl. I’ve uploaded the ones I took that they weren’t in to Heaven or Las Vegas. LOL, most of the pictures I took they were all up in ‘em so I don’t have a lot to upload.

I have so much to do tomorrow. It’s crazy. I better eat dinner and go to bed. :D

New WP theme, and mood theme. Shiny, huh? I decided I needed a change. :D

Life is good. Pretty odd, huh? Just when I think the madness won’t end, it does. Or at least, calms down for me. I also think the drama caught up with me. I was pretty drained from work and financial drama when I got home last night, so I went to bed at 9PM.

I haven’t done that since high school! I woke up at 3AM to sneak under my covers (I was so tired I couldn’t even get under my covers, I just curled up my Hello Kitty blanket and Oreo cookie pillow), and then woke up again at 6AM. I stayed up for an hour or so, cuddled under my covers watching TV, and then I went back to sleep and woke up at 11 or so again.

But when I finally got out of bed (lawlz), I felt light. It’s hard to explain. It was like everything that happened last couple of weeks happened to a different person, to a different me. I listened to my Sophie Ellis-Bextor and got into a good mood for the rest of the day. I made meatloaf for dinner, and went to a meeting at work.

It’s payday this week! I know for a fact that there won’t be any erroneous deductions. August is Take Care of Sunny month. Sunny is my car’s name, BTW. :D Her registration is due, along with a smog check, and she needs an oil change desperately. The dealer sent us a coupon to get an oil change and a free complimentary vehicle inspection, which I will fully spring for. The oil change is way cheaper than Jiffy Lube’s but only with the coupon. So I’m gonna do that first, then the smog, then send the check in for registration.

Speaking of which, my driver’s license expires in the next couple of months. Aren’t they supposed to send you something in the mail about that? ‘Cause I haven’t gotten anything yet, and my address is current.

Meme time!

What five things in life give you joy?

1. Music: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, music is my hot hot sex. It is always there for me when I’m happy, when I’m emo, and every time in between. There is a song for every crush, every emotion, every moment in my life. There are musicians I associate with every major event in my life. That’s why I love this domain name so much. I really need “nothing but song.” But you already knew that.

2. Food: I’m evil. You already know this, rofl. However, if there’s free food to be had at a party somewhere, I’ll get dressed up to go, just to eat. That’s awful, isn’t it? But it’s the truth. I don’t like parties in general. I’m a verifiable hermit you guys. Again, you already know this. I love to cook too, truth be told. I’m not quite up to experimenting, but I love taking Filipino recipes that my mom has taught me, and using my keen sense of chef-ness, throw it into the pot and have it come out okay.

3. California: I love California. Some days the ache doesn’t hurt so bad, but it’s getting more acute as the end of school is near. I was born and raised there. I came to Vegas for a fresh start. I wasn’t quite ready to leave the nest, so I came with my family. I stayed because my dad insisted that I give it a shot. But I’m ready to go home. And it bugs me, ’cause my mom knows I would go back in a heartbeat, but I can’t. Not until school is over. There’s something about this town that just strips you of your normalcy. It’s so hard to be “normal” in this town, it really is. I haven’t been home in awhile, and I can feel it. Over a year and a half, technically. I went to Disneyland in January of last year. And next January, God willing, I’ll be going back to Disneyland and this time with my best friends. It’ll be good to get out of here for a week, you don’t even know! I don’t even care where I live after college, as long as the job is good and I’m in Cali again. Of course, my body will hate it because I’m so used to living without humidity. But there’s always a way to adapt.

4. Hello Kitty: Like most girls, I grew up with Hello Kitty. There’s just something about a cat with big eyes that screams “love me!” And I do, I love Hello Kitty like Bella loves Edward. There was a time in my silly adolescence where I wouldn’t be caught dead with Hello Kitty, but in my old age (haha), I rediscovered my love for her. My favorite blanket is a blue French-theme Hello Kitty one. I collected as many items from that line before they discontinued it, including 2 pillow (one square and another with memory foam), a purse, and two wallets. I will typically give Sanrio gifts to my friends, because that’s how I want them to remember who gave them that gift. They know I’m the only one who will!

5. Photography: For as long as I can remember, I have always had a thing for photography. I liked capturing a photograph to remember moments. I love going through my photo album and laughing or crying, based solely on photographs. My favorite gift growing up was an old hand-me-down 35 MM my family got for me one Christmas. I didn’t have a damn clue what I was doing, but I had fun. I remember standing in line with my mom at Costco every week after church, raiding the photography bins for the rolls of film we dropped off the week before. I remember my mom buying the big-ass packages of film for my camera, so that I would have it. My friends put up with a lot of my shit when I took photos, lemme tell ya. I eventually progressed to video cameras, and if I could figure out how, I’d share “Our Lunch Movie” from junior year with the interwebz. I’ve gone through 4 digital cameras (the FujiFilm FinePix, HP PhotoSmart 43x, Polaroid i532, and the Sony DSC-S40). I’ve upgraded to a DSLR by the name of Nikon D40 and I can’t believe the amazing pictures I can take with it. With the help of the AirMe app for the iPhone, I can upload pictures I take via my iPhone to Flickr in moments.
